I am more interested in how well they would work on rough forest roads. I'm not interested in doing a lift or changing out the OEM wheels. Factory wheel size is 17x7 +48 offset. I was look for an A/T tire for my 2019 Limited without changing rims. I was looking at the same thing. I need 6ply for 2017 17 inch wheels. Not sure if that helps at all. Looks like my wheels are 9mm closer to the strut perch than factory wheels, so you should clear no problem if you are wanting to keep factory wheels. The most off-roading I would now do is forest roads and such. Will 235/6018's be fine with the lift? I'm so afraid to change from the stock size but you have the tires I want! The wheels are 17x8 +45 offset.

The A/T Trail is available in 235/65R17 (if it will fit .. about another 0.5" taller/wider than 225/65 ) as a 6ply if you want a stiffer/heavier/more rugged tire. OWL? Once I go through the OEM tires, I’m heavily looking into getting the Falkens. The Falkens appear to be a bit more aggressive as far as the tread is concerned. Thanks for the replies. Just an update for all... as you all know by now, 2020 has been something out of a Steven King novel. - They were awesome tires, and oh so much better than the Michelins that came stock on that vehicle. In retrospect, I may have gotten away with the bigger tires with the same mud flap alteration. Mpg has gone down 1.5 mpg, 5ish lbs over stock set up mounted on 17x8 Motegi MR118, but that’s a trade I was willing to make going up almost 2 inches over the stock 225/60/17. The G015's were close contender, as they are also having a ~60 dollar rebate, but with taxes the A/T Trail's were ~100 dollars less installed, with a deeper tread and a longer warranty. The Falken's are quieter on pavement, which was a surprise to me. Anyone have these on or know more about them? I’m still on stock suspension. No Rub...so far. There is no bad choice between the two, IMHO. I’m in a similar boat but if I go with the G015 I’ll wait for the 225/60/18 that will be out late December-ish. Most of our driving is a mix of local roads & highway. Quieter, grippier with a better ride and handling than the Continental all seasons they replaced. I've put a couple thousands miles on them, including about 160 miles on North Maine Woods logging roads. I did take a MPG hit of about 5-7%. It was a tough choice though as the Falken's are (also) an awesome tire, but I just have no need for that aggressive of a tread and am not taking my OB 4-wheeling. Going to go with the Falkens next time around. I have a set of 5 Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails in stock 225/60R18 size on my 2020 Touring XT (got a used rim off ebay for the spare). Anyway- they feel good, sound fine, look great. Falken's 235s are 6-ply vs others are 4 - so thats a factor in consideration as well. I'm sticking with the 18" wheels. I will probably be deciding in the next day or two so keep the feedback coming--especially regarding winter performance. Factory wheel size is 17x7 +48 offset. What's the trade-off? I don't get out on the trails enough to warrant having the best offroad option. Getting a 20201 Onyx XT in the next few weeks - want to put on some AT tires, either the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails or Yokohama Geolander A/T G015.
The Open Country A/T III has exceptional wet and dry braking and handling, great off-road traction, a quiet ride, great in snow and 127 sizes. JavaScript is disabled. Rin do your tires rub at 235/65/17? If you had the limited 18s, those rims with the OEM tires were about 51lbs each. I highly recommend them. Yeah that looks very close.
I traded a Toyota FJ for this, so I already have that out of my system. I need something better for off road, winter, while still maintaining on road capabilities. But since this is a daily driver/overlanding/camping vehicle, I find the MPG hit to be worth it. I’m still on stock suspension. Better to stick with 225/6018? The WILDPEAK A/T TRAIL is built for adventure, delivering rugged off-road capability … Otherwise pretty identical with the Falkens rated 680 vs 600 for treadwear and 11 for tread depth with 12 for the Geolandars. I can’t go KO2 or Nitto Grappler without changing rims. Sort of an All Season+. I don't have the Wildpeak Trails but had to do some research on tires due to getting a nail.
